混雑を避けたい場合は、東京メトロ丸ノ内線「新高円寺駅」から徒歩で入る方が、比較的スムーズなケースが多いです。南側の「みなみ演舞場」方面へのアクセスも便利です。
私は、迷わず新高円寺駅を使っておりました。13時の段階で、すでに新高円寺側も結構混み合っておりました。

ガムテープは剥がされる！？場所取り「暗黙のルール」
ガムテープでの場所取りに絶望しかけていたところ、以前、高円寺阿波踊りの関係者だったという方から驚きの情報を得ました。
「この後、なんとガムテープを係の人が剥がしに来るよ！だから、この場に待機して、必ず自分の場所にいないとダメだよ」
午後2時30分：ガムテープ剥がし
灼熱のなか、待つこと約1時間。午後2時30分頃、大会関係者のTシャツを着たスタッフが10名前後、次々と床のガムテープを剥がし始めたのです。
こちらでその現場をご確認いただけます。
場所取りで知り合った方（奇跡的に私の動画の視聴者でした！）と、座りたいエリアの歩道で待機を続けました。
午後4時以降：交通規制とブルーシートでの最終場所取り
その後の流れは以下の通りでした。
- 午後4時少し前：警察が仕切り、道路の交通規制が始まる。
- 午後4時過ぎ：係のスタッフが側道にブルーシートを敷いてくれるので、そこで改めて場所取りが行われる。
- 開始時間まで、確保した場所にいる。
この流れと場所取りルールは、初見では難しすぎて、絶対わからないでしょう。
つまり、朝からガムテープを貼っていても、**スタッフ巡回の時に場所取り付近にいなければNG**ということになります。また、関係者の方によれば、巡回の時間は毎年決まっておらず、2回来る年もあるとのことでした。
結論として、無料エリアで良い場所で見たい場合は、灼熱の炎天下の中、何時間も外で待機していなければならないということです。
現場で遭遇した「暗黙のルール」
実際、グループで来ている人や、道路沿いにお住まいの方は、順番に交代で場所を見守っていました。
また、暗黙のルールなのか、エリアの**“有力権力者（エリアのドン）”**のような人が仕切っている場面もあり、初見にはわからないことが多く、困惑しました。

私が座っていた場所では、17:00から20:00までの休憩なしの3時間で、54連も通過していたようです。

The situation when I attempted to save a spot in 2025 was as follows:

After waiting for about an hour in the scorching heat, around 2:30 PM, about 10 staff members in event T-shirts began peeling off the masking tape from the floor one after another.
I continued waiting on the sidewalk in the desired area with someone I met while spot-saving (who miraculously turned out to be a viewer of the same video channel!).
After 4:00 PM: Traffic Control and Final Spot-Saving with Blue Sheets
The subsequent flow was as follows:
- Just before 4:00 PM: Police take control and road traffic restrictions begin.
- After 4:00 PM: Staff members lay out **blue sheets** on the side road, and spot-saving takes place again there.
- Remain at the secured spot until the start time.
This flow and the spot-saving rules are too difficult for a first-timer to understand.
In other words, even if you put down masking tape in the morning, **it is invalid if you are not near your reserved spot when the staff patrols.** Furthermore, according to the related person, the time of the patrol is not fixed every year, and some years they come twice.
**In conclusion, if you want a good spot in the free area, you must wait outside for several hours in the scorching heat.**

On August 24th (Sunday), when I attended, **a total of 67 groups** participated.
It seems that **54 groups passed by** my spot in the continuous 3 hours from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM without a break.
